Land Rovers UK Ltd Terms & Conditions of Sale
1) Introduction
All orders will be subject to acceptance in accordance with the following terms and conditions. Acceptance of your order and the completion of the contract between you and Land Rovers UK Ltd will take place on dispatch of the vehicle(s)/equipment to you (i.e. at the point you collect the vehicle(s)/equipment from our premises or we deliver the vehicle(s)/equipment in to your custody, the custody of your appointed third party, or the custody of a shipping or transportation agent) unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled that order (please see Section ‘Deposits, Placing an Order, and Cancellations). Please print out these terms and conditions for your own records.
2) Deposits, Placing an Order, and Cancellations
Land Rovers UK Ltd require a £150 non-refundable holding deposit to hold a vehicle in your name. This holding deposit provides you with ten days (from the point Land Rovers UK Ltd receives the £150) in which you can; arrange to view the vehicle(s)/equipment, gather any further information you require from Land Rovers UK Ltd regarding the vehicle(s)/equipment prior to making a decision to commit to any purchase, arrange vehicle insurance, road tax or finance, and/or select any additional equipment or extras you would like to add to your order. This £150 holding deposit will be deducted from the cost of the vehicle if you proceed with the purchase. The deposit is not refundable under any circumstances apart from those in which Land Rovers UK Ltd is unable to complete the order or the vehicle is found to be faulty or inaccurately described.
At any point within the ten day holding period you are entitled to transfer your deposit to another vehicle. You may do this a maximum of three times but the ten day period may not be extended.
At (or prior to) the end of the ten day holding period you are required to finalise the details of your order, pay the remaining balance of your order in full, and then agree with Land Rovers UK Ltd a suitable date and time for you to collect or receive via delivery your vehicle(s)/equipment.
Once your order has been paid in full your order is ‘locked’ and Land Rovers UK Ltd will begin allocating resource in order to prepare the vehicle for you. You will be unable to change or amend your order after your balance has been paid.
If, before the end of the 10 day holding deposit period you have not paid the full outstanding balance your £150 holding deposit will be forfeited and your order will be cancelled.
You will become the owner of the goods once they have been collected/delivered by/to you. Once collected/delivered vehicle(s)/equipment are held at your own risk and Land Rovers UK Ltd will not be liable for their loss or destruction.
3) Pricing & Payment Methods/Terms
The price you pay for a vehicle(s) is the price displayed on the www.landroversuk.co.uk website at the time we receive your £150 holding deposit. While we try and ensure that all prices on our website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat the order as cancelled. If you cancel and you have already paid for the goods, you will receive a full refund.
Holding deposits and balance payments can be made securely over the telephone or at our premises with credit or debit card. No credit or debit card details are retained by us at any time. Credit cards will attract a surcharge of 2% of the value paid by credit card. You can also make payment via a direct bank transfer; if doing so, please ensure the vehicle registration mark of the vehicle(s) that you have purchased is placed as a reference against the payment. Land Rovers UK Ltd will not be held accountable for, or for consequences arising thereof, any bank transfer payments lost or delayed due to this reference not being applied correctly. Land Rovers UK does not accept cash, banker’s drafts, or cheques. Please contact a member of our team if you require Land Rovers UK Ltd’s bank account details in order to make a bank transfer payment.
Your order will not be processed until payment is received in full.
4) Collections, Delivery & Export
Land Rovers UK will always act to ensure any vehicle(s) collection date/time that is agreed with you is fully protected. However, if for reasons beyond our control or for reasons relating to your own ability to collect as agreed your vehicle(s) that date/time, Land Rovers UK will not be held accountable for any compensation, travel costs, or reimbursements relating to the rescheduling of that collection to another date/time.
If you choose to have your vehicle delivered or exported Land Rovers UK Ltd will always try to arrange a date and time that is as convenient as possible for you. However, it is not always possible to guarantee any specific date or time. Delivery and export costs are fully available on our website and should be added to your order prior to you paying the full balance. Where a cost is not available on our website please contact a member of our team for assistance.
If Land Rovers UK Ltd is delivering your vehicle, depending on the logistical circumstances at that time, your vehicle may be directly driven to you (and therefore the buyer must accept any increase in mileage associated with the journey and that the vehicle may collect reasonable dirt or blemishes associated with the journey). Alternatively the vehicle may be delivered to you on a trailer or a low loader transporter. Land Rovers UK Ltd will not accept any liability, or cost associated with the consequences arising thereof, our inability to deliver a vehicle at a specific time or date (even if that date or time has been previously agreed between Land Rovers UK Ltd and you or your appointed third party).
If you choose to have Land Rovers UK Ltd export your vehicle to another country outside of the UK, Land Rovers UK Ltd will ensure the vehicle is correctly removed from the UK registry (DVLA), and – if agreed as part of your order - transported to port or loading area, and safely handed over in to the custody of a third party shipping or transportation agent. Land Rovers UK Ltd will not be held accountable for any damage or theft occurring thereafter during the vehicle shipping, transit or unloading process. Land Rovers UK Ltd strongly recommends you take out independent shipping or transportation insurance when transporting a vehicle on a trans-national journey.
Land Rovers UK Ltd will not be held accountable, or accept the return or refund thereof, any vehicle which fails to meet the importation regulations of the destination Country or (for any reason what-so-ever). Any information provided by Land Rovers UK Ltd regarding the importation process, restrictions, charges or criteria of your country or destination of choice are given as a guide only: you must ensure that you have contacted the relevant authorities within the country you wish to import the vehicle(s)/equipment in to and that you are satisfied that the vehicle is suitable for legitimate importation.
You must ensure that any specific importation actions, that you might request Land Rovers UK Ltd to undertake on your behalf (regardless of whether or not those actions are included within Land Rovers UK Ltd advertised pricing), are agreed in writing/email with Land Rovers UK Ltd prior to placing your order (for example, some countries will require that a specific mechanical certification or specific certificate of exportation is issued to allow a vehicle to be legitimately imported). Land Rovers UK Ltd will not be held accountable if you fail to have identified and/or asked us to organise such an action.
Land Rovers UK Ltd advertised pricing does not include for any importation administration charges or importation duties or taxes; you must ensure you understand these charges and can pay them separately when requested by the relevant local authority. Usually, importation charges will be calculated by your status and the value/type of vehicle(s)/equipment in question. Land Rovers UK Ltd will accept no liability for any aspect or cost of the importation process.
When exporting a vehicle from the UK, you will become the legal owner of the vehicle(s)/equipment once the order has been safely handed in to the custody of the third party shipping or transportation agent. Land Rovers UK Ltd strongly recommends that you take out independent shipping or transit insurance to protect your vehicle and equipment during transit. Once safely loaded on to the shipping or freight vessel/vehicle the vehicle(s)/equipment purchased will be held at your own risk and Land Rovers UK Ltd will not be liable for its loss, damage or destruction.
Any warranty offered with a vehicle(s) is only valid for mechanical and electrical failure that occurred while that vehicle(s) was located in the United Kingdom.
5) Part Exchange Valuations and Selling your Vehicle to Land Rovers UK Ltd
If you choose to part exchange your vehicle against a Land Rovers UK Ltd vehicle, or you are selling a vehicle to Land Rovers UK Ltd, the valuation provided prior to the collection/receivership of your vehicle should only be considered as a guide valuation. All part exchange and purchased vehicles will be inspected at the point of final delivery/collection and the previously offered valuation will then be confirmed or adjusted accordingly. This condition applies regardless of whether or not Land Rovers UK Ltd has previously inspected your vehicle. Land Rovers UK Ltd reserves the right to reduce any previously offered valuation if the part exchange or purchase vehicle in question is found to have been inaccurately described by you or is subject to fault or damage that you were not aware of. If a part exchange valuation is reduced to a degree that is unacceptable to you, you are entitled to cancel the transaction and receive a full refund subject to the deduction of the £150 holding deposit and any costs associated with transporting the vehicle/order to you and/or transporting/collecting your part exchange vehicle from you. However any additional funds paid by you above and beyond the £150 to customise or change the vehicle(s)/equipment in any way at your request will not be refunded.
You have a legal obligation to make Land Rovers UK Ltd aware of any information that might affect the valuation of your part exchange or purchase vehicle or our decision to purchase it from you.
In order to ensure our valuation of your part exchange or purchase vehicle is accurate and fair, you must provide as much data as possible when describing your vehicle to us. You will also be required to provide Land Rovers UK Ltd with all the relevant documentation and items attaining to your vehicle (i.e. current and legitimate V5 logbook, service history booklet, spare keys, locking wheel nuts, and any other items of importance). Failure to provide any of these items may result in a reduction of part exchange or purchase valuation.
You must make Land Rovers UK Ltd aware of any accident history or financial interest held against your part exchange or purchase vehicle.
You must have legal title to the part exchange or purchase vehicle.
If your part exchange or purchase vehicle has a vehicle registration mark (i.e. a ‘personalised plate’) that you wish to retain, the full cost and administration of this process must be completed by you prior to Land Rovers UK Ltd accepting your part exchange or purchase vehicle and/or releasing the order that you have placed through us. If you fail to retain or remove the vehicle registration mark in question, Land Rovers UK Ltd will, at point of accepting your part exchange or purchase vehicle, inherit legal title to that vehicle registration mark and will not be held liable to refund you any value associated with it. If your failure to correctly administrate the retention or transfer etc of that vehicle registration mark delays your ability to complete your Land Rovers UK Ltd transaction within the terms laid out in the section ‘Deposits, Placing an Order, and Cancellations’ of our Terms & Conditions, Land Rovers UK Ltd reserves the right to charge you reasonable delay or storage charges.
If you have chosen to have a vehicle(s)/equipment delivered to you, and Land Rovers UK Ltd is collecting a part exchange vehicle from you as part of the transaction, Land Rovers UK Ltd reserves the right to either a) retain funds from you until the part exchange vehicle can be inspected at Land Rovers UK Ltd premises, b) request reimbursement of funds post-transaction if fault is found with your part exchange vehicle that could not have reasonably been identified outside of Land Rovers UK Ltd premises, or c) within 7 days request that the transaction be cancelled and that your part exchange vehicle is returned to you and your Land Rovers UK Ltd purchase/vehicle(s)/equipment is returned to us. In the latter case, you will receive a full refund for any vehicle(s)/equipment that you have purchased through Land Rovers UK Ltd.

11) Vehicle Warranty
Land Rovers UK Ltd offer a six month mechanical failure warranty on all vehicles under ten years of age at point of sale. If a vehicle is older than ten years of age at point of sale a warranty can be purchased at an additional cost. The Land Rovers UK Ltd warranty does not affect your statutory rights.
Under the terms of the Land Rovers UK Ltd warranty, Land Rovers UK Ltd is entitled to choose whether to repair or replace a component covered by the warranty. Items that are covered under the Land Rovers UK Ltd warranty are listed in the warranty booklet (viewable on request prior to order placement). Mechanical or electrical failure is defined in the ‘Definitions’ section of the warranty booklet. There is no limit on the number of claims made under this warranty save that the total value of claims shall not exceed the purchase price of the vehicle. The maximum claim limit for any single claim is £1,000.
Where the cost of repair exceeds £1,000 the extent of contribution by Land Rovers UK Ltd under the terms of this warranty is the stipulated Claims Limit. The period for which this warranty is valid is from the date of purchase for the period/mileage (whichever is sooner) as stipulated on the ‘Warranty Record’ and is equivalent to 6 months or 6000 miles of usage since point of purchase.
To maintain the validity of the Land Rovers UK Ltd warranty the vehicle must be maintained and serviced as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer or to an alternative service content authorised by Land Rovers UK Ltd and evidenced by completion and stamping of the Servicing Record in the back of the warranty booklet. The relevant invoices must also be retained and may be required in the event of a claim. A maximum allowance of 500 miles or one calendar month is permitted (if unavoidable) in excess of the manufacturers recommended servicing interval.
All warranty issues must be notified to Land Rovers UK Ltd within 48 hours of the problem having been identified. Land Rovers UK Ltd reserves the right to carry out warranty repairs in house or through an agreed third party. All warranty claims will be invalidated if remedial works are completed by a third party if Land Rovers UK Ltd has not authorised in writing a quotation from that third party; without prior authorisation from Land Rovers UK Ltd all costs associated with the claim or repair will fall to the customer.
In the event of a repair being carried out under the terms of this warranty any parts replaced shall become the property of Land Rovers UK Ltd. Land Rovers UK Ltd is at liberty to specify the use of reconditioned/exchange units for repairs carried out as a result of a valid claim within the terms of this warranty.
This warranty is invalidated if the vehicle is used for rallies, racing, pacemaking, reliability trials, scrambling, speed testing, track days or for hire or gain, or commercial travelling without the express written consent of Land Rovers UK Ltd.
This warranty is only transferable to another owner if the Land Rovers UK Ltd expressly consents to it in writing.
This warranty is invalidated if it is discovered that the odometer has been disconnected for a material mileage or tampered with.
This warranty is only valid for mechanical and electrical failure in the United Kingdom.
If a warranty claim requires that the vehicle be transported or recovered from roadside or to any repair centre (including Land Rovers UK Ltd premises), Land Rovers UK will not be held liable for any associated costs (including transportation, disruption to customer travel plans, associated delays, replacement vehicles, road side recovery, or any other associated costs).
This warranty does NOT entitle the customer to the use of a loan vehicle while any warranty issue is being resolved either through Land Rovers UK Ltd or a nominated third party. Land Rovers UK Ltd will always endeavour to resolve any warranty issue as quickly and conveniently as possible but customers must make their own arrangements, and meet the costs thereof, of a temporary or replacement vehicle/mode of transport during the repair period.
12) Returns, Cancellations & Replacements
If you are a U.K based customer who has purchased any vehicle(s)/equipment you are encouraged and afforded the opportunity to inspect that vehicle(s)/equipment at our premises and therefore you are not protected under the Distance Selling Regulations 2000 and you are not entitled to cancel your order after you have paid your full balance. If you do cancel your order, after having paid the full balance, the £150 holding deposit will not be refunded to you. Any additional monies may be refunded at the discretion of Land Rovers UK only. Once the vehicle(s)/equipment has been collected by you or delivered to you you have no right to cancel or return the order to Land Rovers UK Ltd (accept in circumstances where Land Rovers UK Ltd has failed to satisfy its obligations under the Sales of Goods Act 1979 (Revised)).
If you have placed an order that includes for alterations, optional equipment or amendments to a vehicle and you choose to cancel or return your vehicle(s)/equipment, Land Rovers UK Ltd will not refund you for the alterations, optional equipment or amendments unless the alterations, optional equipment or amendments can be removed/made good at no cost to Land Rovers UK Ltd.
Any returned vehicle(s)/equipment must not have been used excessively and must be returned in the original condition with no more than 250 additional miles on the odometer as compared with the moment you took receipt of the vehicle (if this is not the case, Land Rovers UK Ltd reserves the right to charge a fee relating to the devaluation of the vehicle). Vehicles must be in a re-sellable condition (we reserve the right to charge a fee to remediate any damage caused to the vehicle whilst it was within your custody) and have been professionally cleaned at cost to you. We recommend the vehicle(s) are sent back on a recorded, insured, transportation service and packaged in a secure/adequate manner as we cannot be liable for their loss or damage whilst in transit. You must inform us by email of your wish to cancel the contract to return goods for credit or exchange prior to return and within the 7 day cooling off period.
